We are looking for a Content Creator with CTC (or willing to obtain) with experience of creating great visual content (images and video) and good writing and editorial skills. You need to have the ability to take the complex and technical and make it easy to understand for our core audiences. We need someone who can grasp the needs and preferences of our audiences.
You will have excellent experience of delivering communications in a complex environment, working in communications in government or emergency services & of using evaluation and analysis to measure the effectiveness of work carried out.
We have a communications strategy designed to support the delivery of the ESMCP programme. Core to delivering our strategy is having creative and impactful materials for use on our own channels and to support our leadership team and Emergency Services’ leaders in their engagement and communication. A critical part of our delivery is the ability to be able to create creative and innovative content across several channels and products.
Initially Home working – some associated travel in spring to Partner locations to capture footage – e.g. Merseyside, London.
Detailed deliverables for the engagement:
Create innovative and engaging content for a variety of internal and external channels
Develop products that can be used by colleagues to support their communications – this could be material to go in presentations or to be used in the communication channels owned by the emergency services and our other end users
Develop materials as part of the toolkits we are developing on each ESN product
Source and identify stories and opportunities that will resonate with our core audiences and turn them into compelling content
Work with colleagues in the communication team to identify opportunities and ideas to support the delivery of our communication strategy
Skills and/or knowledge required:
Ability to create multimedia content, including visual imagery, video and infographics
Ability to source and create engaging content using a range of tools
Ability to develop and deliver a basic communications plan
Strong written skills and experience of using the principles of plain English to edit complex information into digital and offline content that is concise, accurate, relevant and suitable for a non-specialist audience
Strong planning and organisational skills so you produce content to strict deadlines, able to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and changing deadlines
Good knowledge of usability and accessibility standards for digital content, the reasons for them and how to apply them in practice
Excellent, adaptable IT skills
Good relationship management skills
Good negotiating and influencing skills
A customer and audience focus
The ability to work flexibly with team members to deliver shared goals to tight deadlines
