You will have a passion for bringing new ways of thinking into public policy development and will know how to get things done in government, as well as how to work with the wider world.

The team is a very friendly, happy and supportive place to work, so we are looking for candidates with excellent behaviours, who can help us keep this positive culture.

The successful candidates will meet the following criteria:

Experience providing policy advice, drafting policy briefings, media lines and speeches, strategies etc.

The opportunity arises from the significant growth of work on volunteering across the Office for Civil Society as a result of the coronavirus (CV-19) outbreak, which has necessitated an increase in capacity across our teams.

The current priority of the volunteering team is to support the voluntary sector to respond to COVID-19, alongside some ‘business as usual’ activity. Current team priorities include:

Volunteering Delivery: Supporting the voluntary sector to coordinate activity and link with local and national government effectively so that policy can be informed by the best data available and resources can be targeted to priority needs or gaps
Volunteering Policy: Ensuring individuals have the guidance and support they need to volunteer safely during the pandemic; Ensuring the volunteering policy framework is responsive to the new patterns of volunteering that have emerged during the pandemic and into recovery.

As a policy area with close ministerial interest, the policy and priorities of the team may change in the coming weeks and months.

As well as the experience required above you will have the necessary qualifications, skills & experience to take control of this requirement from its inception to its completion.

If you meet the experience required above please call/mail me ASAP for the full spec/more information. Thank you.
