We are looking for a Transport & Logistics Specialist with an excellent logistics background of large scale projects such as Construction/Army. You will also have excellent experience of Waste management (Nuclear would be advantageous).

You will be responsible for the technical management of transport and logistics planning works during the Tranche 2 site specific phase of the GDF Site Evaluation process. This will include assisting with the production of site specific transport strategies, as well as being responsible for updating, developing and maintaining site specific freight profiles.

Essential Skills and Experience

Proficient communication skills with appropriate experience of internal/external stakeholder engagement/ management.
Chartered membership (or working towards) a relevant professional institution.
Proficient with the development of transport/logistics strategies for the construction/operation of major projects of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP’s) cognisant of full lifecycle for permanent and temporary needs.
Proficient with feasibility, optioneering, design and operational phases on major/complex projects across a variety of highly regulated industries (ideally encompassing civil nuclear).
Proficient with engineering design development.
Proficient with delivering designs/governance in a regulated/safety critical environment.
Understanding of key attributes for site selection processes and interface with statutory processes such as DCO and maintaining construction/operational needs
Understanding of UK sustainability ambitions and opportunities for optimising project requirements
Understanding of relevant legislation including CDM regulations.
Demonstrate understanding to develop or support development of processes and workflows for transport logistics including development of scope of work for design or implementation execution.

Drugs &Alcohol testing & a DBS check will need to be carried out prior to starting onsite.

Location: Harwell, Cumbria, Warrington – any of – 3 days working from home.

Ideally you will be available now/on a short notice period.
