Our public sector client who are within the rail sector are seeking an experienced Desktop Support team member to add to their team. This is a 6 month contract inside IR35 and the following responsibilities will include:
Dealing with incoming requests for laptop equipment, phones and IT equipment.
Ensure cost centres are correct – request completely filled out with addresses and make the orders and have the equipment delivered. Falls under IT procurement. This role requires the candidate to have some IT admin knowledge
Ensure IT hardware requests are progressed within agreed time scales set out by the service operating level agreement.
Document all processes and steps taken to ensure knowledge data base is up-to date.
Develop, schedule and implement training.
Provide technical support based on problem tickets raised.
Perform routine housekeeping and vulnerability patching.
Produce status report and MI where required.
Install bespoke applications.
Respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain systems security in accordance with security policies and legislation.
The ideal applicant will require a basic security clearance (DBS) check and if not, prepared to secure one. This position is part of a larger group and will play a key part in an exciting time within the industry.
