Movember has now become part of the fundraising calendar world wide and in the UK is now an acceptable reason to bin the razor for a whole month. This year the male members of Team Number 8 are taking up the challenge. Ever since moving to Brighton our Labour & Recruitment MD, Trevor Mills, has longed for the opportunity to gain some local respect by sporting a well maintained ‘bush’ CEO Zinzan Brooke has in the past managed to push the boundaries of what is deemed socially acceptable facial decoration and will hopefully revert to a more traditional ‘tash’ for this years event.

We apologize in advance for any undue stress caused by what may be potentially horrific attempts of a couple of un named staff members who may just look like they have a disease. For the rest it will be a welcome opportunity to put the razor away and pretend we look like Magnum PI.

The great thing at the end of the day is that all this fun and potential humiliation will provide a huge amount of funding for these charities that deal with looking after major health issues that directly affect us blokes but indirectly affect the lives of women and families when a dad, brother or son is lost.

We appreciate that there are constant requests of this nature so there is no expectation and any support will be gratefully received.

Number8 is excited to announce our participation in the Prince Arthur Dragon Boat Regatta on the 20th June. Not only will this be a fun filled day, we are supporting the fantastic cause that is Help for Heroes.

We have put together a strong team of boys who are hungry for success, with the main man himself Zinny at the helm!

There will be prizes on the day for ‘Best Team Name’ and ‘Best Dressed Team.’ Naturally, we are looking to take home the gold and urge everyone to come along and support us on the day. There will be a bar, BBQ, interactive entertainment, face painting, and a host of other activities for supporters and competitors.

All monies and sponsorships are going to the thoroughly deserving Help for Heroes charity.
So come on down and cheer us over the finish line!

I REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT DUE TO ILL HEALTH, ZINZAN HAS BEEN ADVISED NOT TO TAKE PART IN THE GRAND SLAM CYCLING EVENT HE WAS SCHEDULED TO COMMENCE THIS FRIDAY.

Zinzan is devastated that he cannot take part in raising money for Sports Relief and DebRA, a charity of which he has continuously supported since learning about the disease. Unfortunately and unavoidably, with his current condition, if he should take part in such an event so soon, it would pose a further threat to his health and recovery.

Zinzan would like to thank everyone for sponsoring on this page and helping support his chosen charities. He would also like to take this oppurtunity to remind readers they can still contribute to the causes; as the charities would be hugely grateful. Lawrence and the other riders are still cycling their hearts out and Zinzan will be flying up to Edinburgh next week to show his support and welcome the guys home!!

The Dellaglio Foundation has pledged to help DebRA, as well as other charities, through this ride – so for those of you who know little about the charity and its cause….,

DebRA is the only charity to provide services and support to children and families who suffer from EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa), at the same time as co-ordinating and providing funds for the research (all over the world) to find treatments and ultimately a cure. EB Research has had some major breakthroughs in recent years and even months, and it is now at a point where, for some types of EB, it is moving from laboratory work to clinical trials – at last, for some of those affected by EB, we are just starting to see the benefits of 15 years of hard work in the labs.

But clinical research is very expensive – several times more expensive than lab research; services still need to be provided while we wait for the day DebRA can close up shop! And all this has come at a time when funding has become more of a challenge.

Should you wish to gain a full refund, I believe the terms & conditions can be accsessed with the following link http://www.justgiving.com/info/terms-of-service/

At the Number 8 Group, we intend to continue our rapid expansion and intend to be a major force in construction services and recruitment. With this in mind, we are delighted to welcome on board Trevor Mills to spearhead this strategy. Trevor brings some 16 years construction recruitment experience to the table and is confident of rapid success.

“I believe Number 8 has the ability to be a quality niche player within the industry. The intention is to build on the foundations that already exist and move the business into new and exciting markets. One aspect that stands out is the knowledge that exists within the team-knowledge and experience of construction and an understanding of the kind of skills needed to keep projects moving. Despite challenging conditions this year, i am confident this quality approach will pay dividends and my number one priority will be ensuring the DNA of Number 8 exists in every market we work in.”

A message from Number 8 Group Managing Director Mr.Zinzan Brooke:

“On the 12th of February, my good friend Lawrence Dallaglio will be cycling from Rome to Edinburgh in aid of Sports Relief and the Dallaglio Foundation. The ride will go through Paris, Twickenham, Cardiff and Dublin. The tour will be an incredible total of 2,800km-a massive effort for everyone involved!

I’ll be taking the saddle on the fifth stage of the tour and my motivation is the amazing charity DebRA who will also benefit from the Dallaglio Foundation. The tour coincides with the RBS 6 Nations Tournament with the ride beginning in Rome the weekend of the Italy vs England game. I’ll be joining in Rosslare and making my way to Dublin, before heading for the final destination of the tour to Murrayfield, Edinburgh, just in time for the Scotland vs England match!

I can’t believe I’ve got myself into this but I have, and the trip looks a bit like this!

Rosslare to Arklow: 72km
Arklow to Dublin: 75km
Dublin to Dundalk: 86km
Dundalk to Belfast: 88km
Stranraer to Thornhill: 103km
Thornhill to Lanark: 70km
Lanark to Edinburgh: 55km.

Total: 549km = EASY!!

If you could take the time to have a look at my “Just Giving” page, and even better, contribute to the £20,000 target I have set myself, I would be most grateful and so would all the families and sufferers of the terrible condition that is EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa).

http://www.justgiving.com/zinzan

I look forward to hearing your “massively motivating” comments on my page-keep it clean guys!

Zinzan Brooke
