Zinzan Brooke
Group Chief Executive Officer
Zinzan is probably best known for his sporting achievements with the All Blacks and various other New Zealand and UK Rugby teams. His post rugby career however has been very much involved in the UK construction sector. Initially with a private development company delivering a number of quality residential schemes around London. And since 2008 Zinzan has been involved with establishing Number 8 as a premium supplier of skilled construction labour to our impressive client group. Zinzan has been responsible for fostering the team ethos that permeates all aspects of Number 8’s operations. Whether it is valuing the efforts of all operatives who represent Number 8 positively through there attitude and ability on site, through to our involvement with client construction teams to assist in the successful delivery of any schemes we are involved with. Even with the CEO badge it is not uncommon to find Zinzan interviewing a potential operative or manning the phones when required.
Trevor Mills
Managing Director Construction Services & Recruitment
Trevor was brought in from the world of recruitment. Fortunately 20 years with Hayes has still not managed to turn him into a stereo typical recruiter. Trevor’s vast experience was acquired in 2009 to manage the rapidly growing trades & labour supply as well as developing the recruitment services. Under his watch these divisions have experienced significant growth and continue to operate as a totally service focused supplier.
Amanda Hunt
Office Manager
Number 8 Group operates an equal opportunities policy that generously extends to employing Australians. Although many of the usual pre conceptions apply, Amanda combines a military like efficiency with a pleasant personality to create a positive office environment. As well as managing the office, Amanda is also responsible for credit control and overseeing payroll. Amanda is there to help and as one of our original team members she is always available to advise with her extensive knowledge of all things Number 8.
Paul Cooley
Consultant
Paul has come from a contracting background and brings enthusiasm and commitment to his role. He has a vast knowledge of our database as well as the ability to target the right operatives in the market place.
Simon Brooke
Contracts Supervisor
Simon, younger brother of Zinzan, is our man out on site. His natural instinct is to help sort out any issue without fuss. As well as developing new business on existing as well as prospective sites he is able to draw on an extensive experience as a carpenter and plant operator to deal with the day to day operative issues that occur on any construction site.
Peter Hart
Group Operations Director
Peter has been responsible for establishing Number 8 Group from its conception in 2008. His construction background combined with his unconventional good looks and athletic build have been key factors in creating a client focused business. After 25 years experience in the industry, from operating his own construction business in New Zealand, culminating in a London based development company with Zinzan Brooke, the opportunity to set up Number 8 was presented. As Group Operations Director he is responsible for overseeing all day to day operations as well as the ongoing expansion of the group’s activities.
Mark Spiers
Head of Search & Selection
Mark has been working in Search & Selection for 25 years. For the last 11 years he has worked exclusively in the construction sector on behalf of some of the most well known organisations in the industry. During that time he has sourced professionals in all disciplines and at all levels from Site Engineers up to the board room. Mark was brought into the Number 8 Group in 2011 in response to continued demands from clients to help them build their professional, management and executive teams.
Tony Langwade
Construction Manager
The old adage that ‘experience counts’ is totally appropriate with Tony. After a long career in construction, he reached the position of construction manager with Laing O’Rourke on a number of large projects including Terminal 5 at Heathrow. Tonys appreciation of how temporary labour supply can enhance the clients direct workforce, is only matched by his awareness of the potential issues encountered if key standards are not met. Tony has established strong links with our clients site managers and is responsible for ensuring these relationships are maintained. Its fair to say that Tony is not our ‘go to’ guy if our IT systems have any issues however his credibility with site management make Tony a vital member of the Number 8 team.
Danielle Worrell
Systems Administrator
Dani came to Number 8 as a part time data entry operator but very quickly moved to a full time roll as the workload increased. She has now taken on a full time roll in our payroll division and is responsible for processing timesheets and dealing with any payroll related queries. Dani has become an integral part of the Number 8 team and is always available to assist with any queries you may have.
