Non EU
To work in the UK you will need to hold a passport and a current UK work visa or permit. You will need to have this documentation prior to entering the UK for work.
Here we have outlined for you some of the most common routes in order of popularity for Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans, Canadians and other nationalities to gain a UK work visa for the UK.
- Youth Mobility Visa (Available to Australians, Kiwis, Japanese and Canadians only)
- UK Ancestry Visa
- Indefinite Leave to Remain
- British or EU Member country passport
- UK Spouse visa
It is possible that you may qualify for more than one visa category. Each option has different validity periods, requirements and restrictions, so you should ensure you choose the best option for your situation.
UK Nationals
As a result of the high number of illegal aliens working in the UK, we require a passport, ID or birth certificate to verify UK nationals who wish to work through Number 8.
Countries in the European Union
There are currently 27 countries that make up the European Union. Self employed contractors that hold an EU Passport or Identity card can work in the UK without a visa. However, Bulgarians and Romanians require a Registration Certificate (or yellow card as it is commonly known as) with the Treaty Right status of ‘Self Employed’.
While we do our best, Number 8 cannot make any guarantee that the UK visa and immigration information provided on our website is either accurate or complete.
